7- Fashion At It's Best!

Cool kicks for chicks, feminine dresses for parties, head-turning outfits and unique matches of clothes. These are some of the things we think whenever we hear the word “fashionista.” But sometimes, people think that fashionistas waste their money to buy a lot of expensive clothes, shoes, accessories and even some make-up. Well, for a fashionista like me, you don’t have to buy overly-priced items. You just have to think of new matches of clothes and shoes for a new fashion. And for me, it’s YOU who will bring it to fashion not your branded shoes and glittering clothes. It’s YOU who will strut around and will be proud of what you’ve thought of. See? Even though some (including me) believe that it’s the shoes that bring out the style in the world of fashion. And that’s the reason why most of the fashionistas love to have a lot of different kinds of shoes. But then again, even if you’re only in your pajamas and slippers, you can be a fashionista. You can wear anything you want just remember to be confident and be proud in what you’re wearing. It’s YOU who brings up the fashion in yourself.

First things first, what’s your goal in dressing up yourself? You want to look cheeky, nerdy, or fab? Ofcourse most of us want to look fabulous whatever we wear. But what pair of clothes would we wear? Here are some tips based on my own style and experience.
1.       Never look trashy. Even though you wear recycled clothes, you wear it proudly and fabulously.
2.       Too much is too much. Overly-dressed is not a good idea of style. People might make fun of you especially if it’s unordinary outfit and doesn’t match the weather, like wearing sweater in a hot day of summer. Uhmm… Nahh!

3.       No to too much exposure. Yup, you heard it right. I mean by that is that you don’t have to wear shorty shorty short shorts if you’re wearing a crop top or any upper clothing that already exposes your skin. You may have that style but make sure it’s not that daring.
Well, those were tips I got from my inspirations in terms of fashion: Tyra Banks, Anne Curtis, and Georgina Wilson. Gorgeous ladies, aren’t they? Though they have flaws in themselves, they never get awkward of what they’re wearing.

So what are you waiting for? Be proud of your own fashion. All of you might be wondering why I’m not wearing any of my stylish clothes. ‘Cause I’m here to tell you that even this uniform, THIS IS FASHION.

6- Dealing With Something New

First day, first year, first times. Can you still remember them? These are the hardest of days because coping up takes time. You barely know anyone except the people you have been with in the past years. Terrifying yet exciting. You need to observe, keep your five senses working and communicate. Being shy will lead you to nowhere but being friendless and alone all the time. You move to take risk and exert a special effort when it comes to making friends. When you are comfortable with the things around you, you can move more freely and more confidently without hesitations.
Adjusting is not only done in the first year but is rather continued till the last year in school. You have to cope up with different people again and again and as time passes by, you will be used to this kind of setting. Making new friends, sharing new memories that will be cherished forever, part-taking to every activity and also making yourself worth remembering. As I look back, I also remember the time where everyone seems so inappropriate to be with and you should take caution whenever you are near them because you have a sudden feeling that makes you uncomfortable. You have to do whatever your heart and mind tells you to but always keep in mind they should satisfy each other. The top of all that would be remembered is simply being just yourself.  Nothing is wrong in embracing who you are. There is no other people you-er than you and you don't have to change yourself just to fit in. In the end, people who really understands you and who really wants to be with you will make a way to be around you.

With this in mind, you are bound to make an unforgettable relationship with the new people around you- and it will be really hard to part ways because you made a great team together once.

5- Basketball!

In the Philippines, basketball is one of the most popular sports game. Some people say, "You're not a Filipino if you haven't watched any basketball game." It is a part of our culture. For us, NBA and PBA are one. But obviously, NBA is the league of the best players.

For some people, it is a waste of time. Watching Basketball game is not just a hobby for us. It is a part of our lives that gives us this different type of happiness, an unexplainable.

We are very excited to tell everybody how one player did such a great move. We always give criticisms about what happened in a game. This is the reason why we meets some new friends. Sometimes, some of us share the same favorite player and we have many stories to tell about that certain player.

Basketball is not only about passing and shooting the ball in an amazing manner. Basketball also gives us determination, thinking skills specially in making decisions off the court and teach us to be sports. It also teaches us the real meaning of team work and cooperation.

It is a physical game. They say that height gives a basketball player an obvious advantage, particularly when you rebound or shoot near the basket. As of now, Wilt Chamberlain, the center of Los Angeles Lakers (1968-1973), is still the top rebounder in NBA having 23, 924 points and a height  of 7 ft 1 in. But we also know that small players are more aggressive and they can also succeed if they have the superior jumping ability in areas like 3-point shooting, like Mark Barroca of Pure Foods having a height of 5 ft 10 in. All in all, a real Basketball fan shows their appreciations in different ways.

4- Pens, pens, pens!

All of us need a pen, specially students like me. We use it to take down notes, to answers out written tests, to draw something or to communicate with someone. That explains why, I guess, most of us have even just one pen.

But other people own pens more than usual. Some have more than five pens with different colors, sizes and styles. In my case, I like to buy pens with cute designs and fine ink.Whenever I see this kind of items, I can't stop myself from the urge of buying it. And because of that, I, then, realized that I was actually collecting pens. Some people are fond of collecting these stuffs, like me. Why? It is because it brings us glee even if some people say it's weird but it's true. It makes our day good and bright, and it seems like everything is colorful!

Maybe it sounds new or strange yet, this thing is already a part of my life. I don't usually use all of it, but I'm contented even by just looking at it. Though I may not have a good penmanship, using this pens soothes away my stress and problems. Having theses isn't just something. For me, it has good effects. First, you have to use the pen that you are comfortable with and by just having these, you can enjoy writing things down. You can also feel that you have better writing than before. Lastly, you tend to have more great ideas to express. Later then, you will just realize that it really helped you do something wonderful than you ever thought.

Anyway, i'm not telling you to collect pens, what I want to say is that find something that can inspire you to change for the better. For me, collecting  isn't just about the word itself. it is also about the pleasure and helpful outcomes it gives you. I think all of us have this things we do for us to be happy. And for me, this is one of my reasons of having a colorful world.

3- Be Motivated!

Hey, you there. Are you feeling down or dont know what to do anymore and laziness sucks you up? Have ever gotten that feeling wherein you just dont want to move because your energy is draining? It's very depressing right? Waking up everyday seeking for something or someone who could inspire you but then again not a single soul could help you? Don't you realize that it is you who need to help yourself, it is you who could do the encouragement for you as well as for others. A shower of positive vibes is all you need. Here are the things i want to share for these are things I do. First and foremost, Always think positive. If you have a positive mind all you see is the beauty and greatness of life. You'll end up appreciating things around you. Stop ranting about everything, it will do nothing. If you want something or you need to finish a thing do it right a way, do the 2-minute magic rule! Your goal here is that after 2 minutes you should've done this or that. Keep in mind that if they can do it, you can also do it and if you put a lot of effort, you can achieve great things.

You are a gift that was sent here for humanity. You are an important being here so you should prove to yourself that you are worth a life. This is your only chance! grab and embrace it. Don't let it go to waste. Don't let the naysayers affect you. Let them be influenced by you. Be inspired by the people around you. If they are doing good let them be your model. If what they are doing is good for nothing, be motivated that you can help them see what they're doing is not right and make them feel that someone is there that will understand and help them.

You have duties to fulfill, missions that only you can solve. Don't feel useless as if you are a burden to everybody around you. Always remember that what you think of yourself affects the view of others to you. Someone will always be there admiring you. So don't let that person feel the numbness knowing that his/her inspiration had already given up. If you feel motivated now, return the favor and be the one who will encourage others. A great feeling will come  unto you.

Picture yourself as a person you want to be in the next minute. Now, do what has to be done to be that. Work hard and don't waste your time. There is no going back. Your future depends on what you are going to do today. Gather all your strength, take hold of your dreams, say that you can do it, let yourself fly up the sky and scream to the world: I FEEL MOTIVATED!

2- Being A Potterhead

Reading. A noun. A process of understanding a language by interpreting written symbols for speech sounds. I know you’re starting to get bored just by the mention of the word “reading” but believe me; you won’t be bored if you’re in the Harry Potter Fandom.

The Harry Potter series is written by J.K. Rowling and is about the adventures, love, and friendship of Harry, the boy who lived, and his two best friends in Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Blessings really flooded Rowling after the release of her series. People admired it. Different countries published it. Many companies wanted to but it. Even Michael Jackson tried to buy it and turn it into a musical!

Now, Rowling didn’t just successfully write the best book, she also gave birth to us, the harry potter fandom.

Since it has been published in many coutries, “Potterheads” were scattered. Each has different color, personalities, and of course, different reasons why they love Harry Potter. Some loved it maybe because they wanted to disappear, to travel, to escape, to learn, to meet new people, to shut everything up, or just breathe.

Another thing about the Harry Potter fandom is it has a lot of otps (one true pairings). Nothing is stopping them from shipping it whether it has the same gender, different age, seems to be absurd, or goes against J.K Rowling (i.e. draco and harry).

The Fandom also has different preferences. A variety of people may like the third book rather than the fourth. Some may hate the movies, some may love it. Some may disgust Luna but love Bellatrix. See? The whole fandom is a living rainbow but it has the same backbone: Harry Potter madness.

If you happen to meet a Potterhead, then you’ll know what we’re kind of weird- but in a good way. We cry at the word “always”, laugh at the world “seriously” and feel rage whenever you tell us to move on. During occasions, we want socks as a gift. We also treat each character as a real person. And even when the movies and the books had ended, the whole fandom is still active. Thought it hurts, we never stopped loving harry potter even when Rowling wrote “All was well” as the books’ last words. We keep on creating fanfictions, talking about it in twitter, writing a blog about the books, and hanging out in Pottermore (a website created by J.K Rowling for the potterheads around the world). It was never enough though. We still want more.

Now, our prayers have been answered. A new harry potter movie will come out next year. Potterheads really came out of their cupboards and shouted, “Step aside, muggles! We’re back!” We really are, like harry, the fandom who lived. Now, as our fandom is patiently—well, not really patiently waiting for the net movie, we’re holding on to J.K Rowling’s words, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

As I end, I want to tell you that reading the Harry Potter series was magical. Loving it was real. Knowing the characters was exciting. Realizing that there’s no more sequel was dreadful but all the adventures that we had was worth the time. So if you want to feel these things, have an awesome adventure, or discover new things yourself, I suggest you to stand up, buy the books, find your happy place and read the whole series.
